Writing a blog post on a World Cup weekend is like a tree falling in a forest, but I’m a faithful girl, and there are clicks to tell you about. The most tempting (and that’s saying something — it’s been a good week for dog-friendly links!)… Read the rest
This week’s Chloe’s Clicks is an assortment of miscellaneous items, so we’ll just bounce from one to the other and not hope for a theme. Let’s start in lovely Santa Cruz, CA. Last week I told you that the city’s downtown merchants were about to vote for/against lifting a long-standing dog ban, and this week the Santa Cruz Sentinel reported that the vote went in favor of lifting the ban, with caveats: There will be a six-month trial period, no more than three dogs may be allowed to gather together, and dogs must be kept on 3-5′ leashes.… Read the rest
Dog Jaunt recently gave away three great Outward Hound pet carriers in giveaways that asked entrants to tell me about their favorite dog-friendly place. I loved the winners’ recommendations, but I also loved the suggestions that other entrants posted. It would be a shame to let them go to waste, so here are the ones that grabbed me, in no order at all:
“Cesar Chavez Park at the Berkeley Marina [Berkeley, CA] has got to be the best dog park ever.… Read the rest
We were prepared for rainy and cool, but Southern California shook off its recent weather and presented us with perfection. We celebrated with brunch at Madison Square Café in Laguna Beach, featuring excellent food for humans and the heartiest of welcomes for dogs.… Read the rest
This week’s Chloe’s Clicks is late (we were on a plane yesterday!) but packed with good stuff. Here goes:
Why not lead off with the most controversial topic? Go Pet Friendly posted a two-part article this week summarizing and responding to a wealth of comments people wrote about dog-friendly restaurants (or, more accurately, restaurants that allow dogs to join their owners on patios and at outside seating).… Read the rest
A couple of weeks ago, I gave you a link to a Peter Greenberg Worldwide video about borrowing a dog when you’re traveling, if you can’t bring your own with you. This week, the author of Adventure: Your Travel Blog mentioned borrowing the Chateau Lake Louise’s resident Lab (named Sonny) for a walk during a recent visit to the Canadian Rockies.… Read the rest

This week’s links are a real grab-bag — all over the map, and lots of different topics, but all fun. Here we go:
Pet Airways brings us not only pet-only flights (now also to Omaha, Atlanta and Phoenix) but also write-ups of pet-friendly activities in areas served by the airline.… Read the rest
Thanks so much to everyone who entered Dog Jaunt’s giveaway for an Outward Hound Sling-Go Pet Carrier, and thank you to The Kyjen Company for sponsoring it!
The randomly-selected winner was Amanda who recommended Freddie’s Place in Austin, TX. Here’s why:
Their outdoor patio isn’t just one of South Austin’s best places to enjoy a margarita on a warm evening or a bloody for brunch, but Sunday afternoon is devoted especially to dogs and their owners.… Read the rest
If you’re looking for a dog-friendly pub in England, Scotland or Wales, I have a couple of resources for you. The first site, Doggie Pubs, is no-frills in both presentation and requirements: A pub’s food and drink have to be good, and your well-behaved dog has to be welcome to sit by you while you eat (it’s just not good enough if you can only have a beer with your dog).… Read the rest
