Photo Friday: Truffles and the coconut

Remember reader Patty, who reported this week on her e-mail exchange with Toronto’s Pearson airport about the location of its pet relief area? Here is Truffles, her nine month-old Havanese — and a wedge of fresh coconut. It turns out that Patty and Truffles live in paradise, or, more precisely, the Abaco Islands, in the northern Bahamas.… Read the rest

Photo Friday: Tampa airport’s pet store

Now here’s something I’ve never seen before — a pet store in an airport. It’s called Dog-E-works and it’s in Tampa’s airport, among that cluster of shops on the second floor that you see when you go up the escalators from ticketing, or come in on the airport trains from the concourses (there’s apparently another one in Orlando’s airport).… Read the rest

Photo Friday: Chloe at the office

I’m traveling without Chloe for the first time in two years (I figured she’d rather stay home with my husband than sit in a crate for hours at a stretch while I watch the entire Sarasota Opera season in one weekend), so I was thrilled to death to see this picture of her yesterday.… Read the rest

Photo Friday: Pammy the Port-a-Pug

Photo Friday: Tapas and the Humble Paw

This week’s photo is of Tapas, my friend Richard’s wonderful Chihuahua, waiting to board a plane for their return trip to Seattle. The gorgeous carrier is made by Pet Flys. I admired Pet Flys’ “Enter the Dragon” carrier back in December 2009, but the Super size (which is the size Chloe would need) is too big to work as an in-cabin carrier.… Read the rest

Photo Friday: A senior dog and his family

My husband and Chloe and I were out on a walk when we encountered this family and their fleet (well, there were two) of strollers. One held a very young child, wrapped up for the cold, and the other, larger stroller held a senior dog curled up on a thick plaid blanket.… Read the rest

Photo Friday: Chloe at Lowe’s

I’d forgotten that we took this photo! We were visiting Florida back in December, and took Chloe with us on a trip to the local Lowe’s store. It was her first time in a shopping cart, but she settled down once I spread a store flyer out under her (she doesn’t like open metal mesh under her paws).… Read the rest
