Other transport

Train travel with a dog is far easier in Europe than it is in the U.S., but even in the U.S. you’ll be surprised by the number of commuter rail systems that allow dogs (particularly small dogs) onboard. In fact, public transit systems more often than not allow small dogs in carriers on their subways, buses, trains, and streetcars. This section gathers in one place all the information I’ve collected not only about traveling by train, bus, ferry, and public transit with your pet dog, but also information about biking and sailing with your dog.
