It’s been a while since I looked at dog pictures on Flickr, but it’s like looking at “pet accessories” on Etsy — you know you’re going to come across something that makes you snort with laughter. Here’s what made me snort today:

I’d love to see how you and your dog spent time together this week — please post your pictures on Dog Jaunt’s Facebook page, so we can all enjoy them!
I have loved Chloe’s Gulpy water bottle since we bought our first one over two years ago. As I said when I first reviewed it, it’s a simple product that does its job really well. The only feature I didn’t like was its plastic clip, meant to be hooked over a waistband. I also wished, in a mild way, that the bottle could be stood solidly on its base, rather than teetering on the rounded end of the water dish … Read more
Just over a year ago, I reviewed H2O4K9’s gorgeous new water bottle for dogs. I loved some of its features, particularly its flat bottom and the way it can be hooked onto a belt loop or bag with a carabiner. On balance, though, it didn’t convince me to change over from the Gulpy dog water bottles we’d been using. Since then, H2O4K9 has come out with a water bottle targeted at small dogs, so naturally I had to buy one.
Oh, I am so excited about this. Look at the top of Dog Jaunt’s page, and you’ll see that the last tab on the right now says “Store.” Click on it, and you’ll find tee-shirts, water bottles, and even a doggy tee-shirt — all featuring Dog Jaunt’s new logo. The tee-shirts have phrases on the back like the one to the right, reminding you why it’s so great to travel with your dog. I’ll be modeling the three that are … Read more

It has become strangely difficult to find the Gulpy dog water bottles I’ve praised in a number of past posts, so when I saw the Pet2O clip-on dog waterer, I snapped it up. What a clever idea, I thought — just sell the flip-down part of a dog water bottle, and structure it so that it attaches to any disposable water bottle with a squeeze top.
It is a clever idea, but I can’t love the product. When … Read more
In one of my earliest posts on Dog Jaunt, I praised the Gulpy dog water bottle as a simple product that does its job really well. It does, but, you know, nothing is perfect, and when I caught sight of H2O4K9’s exciting new dog water bottle I lost my head and ordered one. For one thing, I really love dog gear I have a clear duty to my readers to report on new products. And the Gulpy does have a … Read more
I loved the idea of this adapter, and eagerly screwed it on to a handy bottle of Arrowhead bottled water as soon as it arrived. For the life of me, I can’t make it work well. You’re supposed to turn the bottle over and hold it vertically, with the top unscrewed as little as possible (while still allowing sufficient water through). Your dog laps at a ball which rolls and dispenses sips of water. It’s a large version of a … Read more
This is my third post about hip packs for dog walking — I still love the OllyDog Walker I reviewed back in May, and if I wanted more room to carry stuff I’d be happy with the WalkyBag I found a couple of weeks later, but the one I just found today is worth a look. (It was cunningly concealed in a website about Golden Retrievers, so it’s just a fluke that I stumbled upon it.)
The Hound Hipster covers the … Read more
Chloe came from a breeder just outside San Diego, so the very first thing we needed to do with our new dog was fly with her from San Diego to Seattle. I went online for instructions, and found a lot of general advice but nothing detailed. Here are the details I wished for then. [Please check out my 4/30/10 guest post on Fido Friendly’s blog about flying with an in-cabin dog for a newer, and slightly more organized, version of … Read more
Chloe and her Gulpy
The Gulpy is a simple product that does its job really well. It’s a water bottle with a screw-on cap attached to a scoop-shaped piece of plastic. Closed, the scoop hugs the bottle and allows it to be carried in a normal water-bottle holster. Flipped open, the scoop holds water (squeezed out of the bottle) in a convenient “dish” for your dog to drink from.
The Gulpy has a clip on the side, so you can hook … Read more
