This week led off with a bunch of lists. Huffington Post published a list of dog-friendly restaurants and hotels in Los Angeles; Sunset Magazine published a list of ten dog-friendly vacation ideas in the western United States (including Tucson, the San Juan Islands, Coronado Island, the Oregon coast, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Los Angeles, and a Walla Walla winery); and Yak & Natter reported on their visit to four of Britain’s ten best dog-friendly beaches.… Read the rest

Chloe goes to Paris: Taking dog food to another country

A blogging friend who has traveled abroad with her dogs got me thinking about taking dog food through Customs (“be careful,” she said, “to bring only unopened packages of dog food with you”).

As I’ve mentioned, we’ll be spending a couple of weeks in Paris this fall, and an EU regulation [Commission Regulation (EC) No 745/2004] “permanently prohibits all personal consignments of meat, meat products, milk and milk products from entering the EU.” … Read the rest

Not every Parisian dog is purse-sized! This week’s picture was taken last July at a beloved bistro in the Haut Marais called Le Progrès (1, rue de Bretagne 75003). I love the look on the lady’s face.
