Chloe’s Clicks: This, um, month’s best dog travel links

Holy cats, this Chloe’s Clicks is way overdue! I’ll just plunge in with the oldest link in the collection, a post about a private jet company in the U.K. that invites your pet to join you in the main cabin. On the plus side: Your pet’s with you in the main cabin, and she has her “very own leather-upholstered seat, strapped in for safety, all while enjoying a window view.” On the minus side: If you have to ask, you  … Read more

Readers’ tips for in-town stuff to do with your dog

This post is distilled from a bunch of wonderful comments that Dog Jaunt readers left as entries in a recent giveaway — you can find them there, of course, but I feared they’d get lost as the memory of the giveaway dims. So here they are, clumped geographically for your convenience:

In reality, however, there is no pet relief area for Terminal C, so ignore those directions —  … Read more

The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Houston, Texas (“Metro” or “MTA”) operates bus lines, express bus lines, and light rail in Harris County. The city plans extensions to the light rail lines and the addition of a commuter rail system. The consensus appears to be that cars are still a necessity in Houston, but there’s hope for the future — and the public transportation that exists is clean and pleasant.

Metro’s pet policy is as follows: “Customers  … Read more

Travel book review: The City Dog series

There are ten of these guidebooks currently available new on Amazon, covering the following areas: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, NYC, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Washington D.C. There is also an additional volume called City Dog: Hotels & Resorts for You and Your Dog.

So far, I only own the one for NYC (2005 edition), and I used it fairly heavily during a recent visit to friends in Greenwich Village. The things I liked most about it were its  … Read more
