Large, but still workable, in-cabin pet carrier: Teafco Argo Petagon

Those of you who follow Dog Jaunt’s Facebook page will know that I first saw this carrier in a celebrity shot in the Daily Mail: Julianne Hough was carrying it through an airport, and my eyes lit up because in it was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel just like Chloe.

Workable in-cabin carriers for larger small dogs are rare. I figured out the bag’s brand and model, bought one, and took it on a flight —  … Read more

Which seat works best with an in-cabin dog? [Virgin America A-319]

We fly on Virgin America several times a year, but always, to date, on one of their Airbus 320 planes, never on an A-319. She and reader Patty made their way from the Bahamas to British Columbia recently, and I want to share three things from their report.

Victoria, B.C. airport (YYJ) pet relief area

First, they sought out the pet relief area at the Victoria, B.C. airport (it’s actually located about 15 miles north  … Read more

Which seat works best with an in-cabin dog? [Delta A319]

Delta’s A319 planes are divided into two classes, First and Economy. We were traveling in Economy, which has three seats on each side of the aisle. Row 9 is an exit row, so you will not be able to sit there with your dog. Row 5 has a bulkhead in front of it, but even though the bulkhead has large cut-outs that let you stick your purse, etc. under the last row of First Class, you cannot have an in-cabin dog  … Read more
